Juicy.

Before last week, I had never used a juicer before. In fact, apart from on television, the only times I had ever seen a juicer being used were in juice shops like Booster Juice or Jugo Juice.

Last week, my best friend and I had a juice party. For about a year now, I’ve been hearing all about the lovely liquid concoctions she was creating with the beautiful machine — last Saturday, I got the chance to make some with her.

Before hearing about my best friend’s intricate juice mixes, my immediate inclination upon receiving a juicer would have been to throw in some apples and some spinach, and maybe a pineapple and some carrots too. I am, obviously, a juicing novice. When I arrived in her kitchen, she had laid out ingredients for three amazing juices, including apples, lemon, ginger, kale, beets, carrots, cucumber, and lots of things I have probably already forgotten.

The results were beautiful, colorful, nutrient-rich, delicious.

I left my best friend’s home with a happy belly, full of fruits and vegetables and deliciousness.

I left her home with a happy heart, full of memories of fun times and little smiles with the dearest of friends.
